Heritage Cycle Ride, Delhi with Delhi Cycling Club... 21 Feb, 2010

Hi,

Today at 07.00 Am I, along with two Internet friends went for Heritage Cycle Ride in Delhi with Delhi Cycling Club...
Objective of this ride was to create awareness about cycling , its benifits and to regain our Heritage's Encyclopedia
VENUE/Assembling point was Pragati Maidan Metro station
Delhi Cycling Club organised This event in association with NGOs ITDP and INTACH Delhi Chapter.


We paddled 21kms from punjabi bagh to Pragati Maidan to explore the heritage monuments situated around Nizamuddin area and along the Mathura Road covering a distance of around 12-kms. Key monuments and buildings covered in the ride were:



1) Humayun Tomb
2) Purana Quila (Old Fort)
3) Matka Pir
4) Sabzburz (Gol Gumbad)
5) Tomb of Rahim Khanekhana
6) Nizamuddin Dargah Complex
7) Mirza Ghalib memorial
8) Amir Khusro Tomb
9) Shershah Sur Gate (Lal Darwaza)
10) Supreme Court building





We paddled 53 kilometers in 8hrs(21kms -12kms-20kms).. It never felt this great before.
